This issue typically involves text in Middle East or Asian languages (Arabic, Chinese, Hindi, etc.). On Windows 10 Mobile, this issue is most likely to involve East Asian languages (Chinese, Japanese, Korean).
Some key improvements have been made in Windows 10 that affect fonts; more details on this are provided below. In certain apps, these changes can lead to the “square box” symptoms when displaying certain international text.
All Windows 10 editions include fonts that provide broad language support, and the Windows platform includes font fallback mechanisms designed to ensure that text in any language always displays with legible glyphs rather than boxes. In some cases, these apps have taken direct dependencies on fonts that are not present by default on all Windows 10 systems.
UWP enables apps that are written and built once and that can run on a wide range of devices, from Hololens to Xbox and Surface Hub. One requirement for this converged app platform is to have a set of fonts that are common across all of these device categories. In addition, this set of common fonts provides comprehensive Unicode support, accommodating thousands of languages from around the world using a small set of fonts that require only limited disk space.
The Windows desktop client is typically used on devices with less stringent storage constraints, and so it can accommodate a larger selection of fonts. However, this added a large number of choices in font-picker controls and dialogs that would have low relevance for a given user.
If the Simplified Chinese version of Windows 10 is installed, then it will already have this optional font feature pre-installed. If a different language version of Windows 10 is installed but a user enables a Simplified Chinese input method, or if they have a profile associated with their Microsoft account that already includes Simplified Chinese and that profile roams onto the device, then the Simplified Chinese Supplemental Fonts feature will automatically be installed via Windows Update.
But even without any of these optional font features installed, every Windows 10 desktop system still includes the common UWP fonts, ensuring that Windows still has great support for Unicode and for international text, and ensuring that universal Windows apps can have great text display on desktop devices and every other form factor. If a Windows Phone app directly depends on one of the fonts listed above for displaying certain Unicode characters and does not make use of font fallback mechanisms provided by Windows, the result would be characters displayed as “square box” glyphs. The following table gives the complete list of the optional font features and representative language associations. In the meantime, you can also install one or more optional font features that the apps may require to function correctly.
(Note: other language-related optional features, such as text prediction or spell checking, may also be installed.). Recommendations for OEMs and System Administrators If you are configuring language packs or international settings in Windows 10 deployment images, then you should use the Deployment Image Servicing and Management tool (DISM) to include optional font packages (and other optional, language-related capabilities) associated with the language packs that you add into your images.

Today's update gives you the tools to sort your messages with archived chats, a new design on Android and a handful of other nifty features to make the most of your messenger. Sort your active and inactive chats, separate personal stuff from work or banish annoying contacts to your archive for some spectacular revenge!
Selecting messages in chats is now not only more stylish but also more functional – note the new quick forwarding button which appears right under your thumb:. Pull up the new streamlined sharing menu to cover the entire screen and select your whole gang.
And don‘t fret if you’re short on words, the comment field now supports emoji. Meanwhile on iOS, passcode settings have been made more stylish and more robust to accommodate 6-digit codes, in addition to the previous 4-digit and custom alphanumeric options.
We also thought that large emoji feel more natural without chat bubbles and made them look like little stickers instead. Last but not least, you can now instantly see who's online from the chat list and sharing menu to find out who else might be watching cat videos in the middle of the night.
As always, stay tuned for more updates on all our platforms — we look forward to popping back out of your archive with the next version.
Many of us use English as the mode for communication while texting someone over instant messaging platforms like WhatsApp,. In the latter case all you need to do is type a Hindi word or sentence in English and the keyboard does the rest for you.
First, download Google Indic Keyboard app from Play Store. Once installed, head to Settings and tap on Language & Input option.
We welcome all developers to use our API and source code to create Telegram-like messaging applications on our platform free of charge. In order to ensure consistency and security across the Telegram ecosystem, all third-party client apps must comply with the API Terms of Service. If you use the Telegram API for flooding, spamming, faking subscriber and view counters of channels, you will be banned forever.
This API id is limited on the server side and is not suitable for apps released to end-users — using it for anything but testing purposes will result in the API_ID_PUBLISHED_FLOOD error for your users.
Click the Settings button in the lower right corner of the screen and select Privacy and Security. The first step is to make sure no one can read your chats if you accidentally leave your device unlocked and unattended. The primary login method uses a one-time code sent by text, so Telegram lets you set a password as the second factor. To do so, on the Privacy and Security tab, select Two-Step Verification (Telegram’s term for 2FA), and set a strong combination. In essence, that means submitting a request to remove your account completely, after which you will have to wait seven days. So as not to share unnecessary details with all 500 million–plus Telegram users, configure your profile privacy appropriately.
This is also a great time to take a look at Privacy & Security → Data Settings and remove from Telegram storage any information you do not want to be there. Use a VPN to hide your IP address (which Telegram can disclose at the request of law enforcement agencies, for example). Unlike Telegram, they encrypt all chats by default and have a bunch of extra privacy options. Keep in mind that even the most secure messenger is defenseless if someone gains access to your device, either physically or remotely.
With that in mind, we recommend always being sure to lock all of your devices with a password or a PIN code, regularly updating all apps and operating systems installed on them, and using a reliable antivirus solution to protect against malware.
To use the Play Store app, you'll need to turn background data on for your device. When data saver mode is on and Wi-Fi isn't available, Google Play may be affected. Scroll down and tap the Google Play Store . Scroll down and tap the Google Play Store .

Telegram is one of the feature-packed messaging services out there, armed with some neat perks that can put rivals like WhatsApp and Signal to shame when it comes to functionality. While basic Telegram features like the ability to edit messages after sending them are well known, here are some lesser-known, yet incredibly useful things the app can do that could come in quite handy. Telegram users can send each other live locations just like WhatsApp.
Live locations allow the receiver to track the sender in real-time for a set amount of time when they’re on the move. You can, for instance, set up a proximity alert for when your friend gets within a 50-meter radius of you at the mall, so you can start looking for them around you.
To use live locations and proximity alerts, go to the contact’s chat window and tap on the ‘Attach’ icon shaped like a paperclip. Once you and your contact have both shared your live locations with each other, Telegram will show both parties on either map, which allows them to track each other.
To achieve that, users can choose from a number of themes and colour combinations in the app. To do this, head over to Telegram’s settings by sliding over the hamburger menu from the left of the app. Sent a picture without adding your usual filter or marking the text you wanted to highlight?
For instance, you could set a group to include all chats from your work colleagues and another to manage your personal social circle. Depending on what Android skin your phone uses and how much RAM you are usually left with to spare, Android’s algorithms may close Telegram and other apps in the background, delaying your new message notifications till when you open the app again manually. Users can save important messages here which will be backed up on Telegram’s secure cloud just like your chats.
The Saved Messages space can then be accessed across you’re your phone, laptop and any other device where your account is logged in. This allows you to quickly add someone close to you on Telegram without going through the hassle of first noting their number and saving the contact manually. Choose ‘Find People Nearby’ and here you will see a list of contacts who have chosen to be visible.
The standard emojis on Telegram can be presented in an animated avatar to further enhance their emotional value.
You may initially want to do this, but if you do that Telegram will keep a record of all the phone numbers in your contacts. If you refuse you will still be able to contact people using their handle or phone number.
