Yep, you can actually put words in your friend’s mouth, then laugh while they try to figure out if they’ve lost their mind, or their phone has been hacked. After downloading and installing Phoneys from the iMessage App Store, look for a text message you want to change.
For extra fun, just respond to the “phoney” text to continue the conversation, and watch as your friend reacts in confusion. Phoneys’ creator Adam Howell, who works full-time as a remote employee for San Francisco-based Lithium, likes to develop apps in his free time.
When iMessage stickers were announced this June at WWDC, he began working nights and weekends on his first pack, Guises.
Fraudulent emails and other messages that look like they're from legitimate companies, including Apple. If you're suspicious about an unexpected message, call, or request for personal information or money, it's safer to presume it's a scam and contact that company directly if you need to.
It could be a scammer trying to steal your personal information. Scammers send fake text messages to trick you into giving them your personal information – things like your password, account number, or Social Security number. Scammers also send fake messages that say they have some information about your account or a transaction.
If you get a text message that you weren’t expecting and it asks you to give some personal information, don’t click on any links. Not the information in the text message.
Watching how a conversation unfolds over iMessage or Messenger is like listening in on an intimate discussion between two people and can make for a funny, compelling, or emotional story to share with others. It is possible to make a text message video by yourself, although it's not easy to emulate the animations of iMessage in real time. But if you're trying to create a meme or something entertaining for social media, you don't need super high fidelity output.
Set your canvas to the 9:16 aspect ratio to emulate a vertical video or Story format. This size makes the texting video look like a smartphone screen and is compatible with TikTok, Instagram Stories, and Snapchat discover.
Here's the styling options I made to the background before adding the text messages or animation:. Contact name: I added a text layer, made it white, changed the font to Helvetica, and positioned it small under the profile photo.
Before adding the text messages, select the top frame and lock that layer in place. In the next step, you will add the timing to insert dramatic pauses and animation and make the text screenshot into a video. If the text message story spills off the canvas or takes up more than one page, you'll need to add a scene on the left hand side.
The transition will be bit awkward and jerky, but it makes more room on the canvas for your text thread. Click on the first text layer and slide the start time to the moment it should appear on the screen.
Moving the start time means that the layer will appear at the delayed timestamp, emulating a text conversation. If you want there to be a dramatic pause, make that text message take a longer time to appear in the timeline.
Watch the video preview through to make the timing match the normal cadence of a text thread. You want to give the viewer enough time to read and digest each thread before making the next bubble appear. With Kapwing, you can drag MP3 audio tracks directly into the timeline and time them out with the corresponding text message layers.
After a few moments, Kapwing will return the text story video that you can download, embed, publish on social media, or share with friends. Please input your email and connect with KapwingApp on Twitter to subscribe for more updates on social media video formats!

The GPS capability of your smartphone is critical for location-based apps, like those meant for weather or mapping purposes. Whether you're a teenager trying to hide from your parents or more seriously, someone with an abusive significant other who is obsessively keeping tabs on them, there are ways to trick the location tracking features on your device.
Regardless of whether you use an Android or iPhone, there isn't a simple one-button setting that will instantly alter your virtual location. In the Google Play store you'll find plenty of apps meant to enable GPS fakery for Android devices. Launch the app and scroll down to the section titled Select an option to get started. You'll see a Draw Permission Required dialog box, which prompts you to change a system setting.
In order to enable a mock location, you'll have to dig into your phone's settings. Tap rapidly on Build Number until you see a notification that shows you're entering Developer Mode. Faking the location of an iPhone requires more effort than with Android devices because you can't simply install an app. The easiest way is to use your computer, and keep in mind this only works with iPhones running iOS 12 or older operating systems.
At the top of the map, type in the location you want to fake and press Enter. Click Virtual Location from all the options, and have your iPhone connected to your computer. If you just want to turn off your location information without trying to fool people into thinking you're someplace else, it's pretty easy. Note that some apps won't work properly if the location information is turned off.
Keep in mind that faking your GPS signal isn't always a foolproof way to throw people off your tracks.
